Responsibilities

• Receive and organize gold purchases submitted by Bailey’s retail locations.
• Process gold purchases following established company procedures.
• Verify purchase documentation, weights, quantities, and merchandise information for accuracy.
• Complete necessary inventory transactions and maintain accurate processing records.
• Organize and separate merchandise designated for scrap processing from pieces selected for resale.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies or missing information to the appropriate team members.
• Prepare and organize processed scrap gold for designated handling and refinery procedures.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and organized processing workspace.
• Assist with processing select jewelry pieces identified for resale with in-house appraiser.
• Create Bailey’s inventory SKUs for approved jewelry pieces and enter data into the system.
• Ensure inventory records and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.

Bailey’s Fine Jewelry is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Gold Processing Specialist to join our merchandising team.
This entry-level position is primarily responsible for processing gold purchases received from our retail locations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring merchandise is properly organized and documented.
The Gold Processing Specialist will also assist with creating inventory records for select jewelry pieces designated for resale, working alongside our in-house appraiser and Estate Buyer.
The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and eager to learn. Previous jewelry industry experience is a plus but is not required.
Key Responsibilities
Gold Buying Processing

• Receive and organize gold purchases submitted by Bailey’s retail locations.
• Process gold purchases following established company procedures.
• Verify purchase documentation, weights, quantities, and merchandise information for accuracy.
• Complete necessary inventory transactions and maintain accurate processing records.
• Organize and separate merchandise designated for scrap processing from pieces selected for resale.
• Identify and communicate discrepancies or missing information to the appropriate team members.
• Prepare and organize processed scrap gold for designated handling and refinery procedures.
• Maintain a clean, secure, and organized processing workspace.

Inventory & Appraisal Coordination

• Assist with processing select jewelry pieces identified by the Fine Jewelry & Estate Buyer for resale.
• Work with Bailey’s inhouse appraiser to obtain accurate descriptions, specifications, and other necessary merchandise information.
• Create Bailey’s inventory SKUs for approved jewelry pieces.
• Accurately enter merchandise information into the company’s inventory management system.
• Ensure inventory records and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
• Organize completed merchandise for inventory placement or transfer to retail locations.

Administrative & Merchandising Support

• Maintain organized records of gold purchases and processed merchandise.
• Track merchandise throughout the processing workflow.
• Communicate with the merchandising team regarding processing updates, discrepancies, or outstanding items.
• Assist with inventory organization and other related administrative tasks as needed.
• Follow company procedures for merchandise security, handling, and documentation.
