You will design, develop, and test scalable Golang services that deliver trusted news experiences across web, mobile, and connected TV, partnering with product, design, and engineering colleagues.

You will own code quality, CI/CD, observability, incident response, and contribute to documentation while communicating clearly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years building and operating highly available distributed backend systems in production.
• Experience with Golang (preferred) and/or Java in large-scale services.
• Experience deploying and scaling services in AWS cloud.
• Understanding caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with stakeholders on project progress.
• Design and develop new Golang-based solutions and drive alignment across teams.
• Test new code via unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Participate in on-call duties including deployments and incident response.
• Use logs and monitoring tools to diagnose root causes during incidents.
• Participate in code reviews and promote code quality.
• Collaborate with product, editorial, and engineering stakeholders to translate requirements into robust solutions.
