What Success Looks Like:

• First 30 days: get backend running locally, understand core services, ship first fixes or features.
• By day 90: regularly ship backend work, take well-scoped features, implement cleanly, test, and deploy.
• By end of year one: become a reliable backend contributor, strengthen skills in Go and database design.

What You'll Do:

• Build and improve backend services in Go across Rare Candy's collector-facing product.
• Develop and maintain GraphQL APIs and third-party integrations.
• Write automated tests, investigate production bugs, and improve reliability.

A Day in Your Life at Rare Candy:

• Start morning reviewing feedback on shipped features and checking for backend errors.
• Mid-morning, pair with another engineer on a new API for a collection feature.
• After lunch, implement service logic in Go, tighten queries, and write tests.
• Later, participate in product discussions, bringing backend perspective and TCG fluency.
• Close the day by opening a PR with clear summary, test coverage, and rollout notes.
