Job summary

Rare Candy is hiring a mid-level Web Engineer to craft web experiences collectors use to discover products, manage collections, shop drops, and open Instapacks. You’ll partner with the CTO, product, design, and engineering to take ideas to production, owning features end-to-end in a fast-moving startup.

You’ll ship thoughtful frontend solutions, balance tradeoffs, and contribute to a product that supports a vibrant trading-card community.

Qualifications

3–5 years of web engineering experience with production feature delivery.
Proficient with React and TypeScript; solid fundamentals in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Ability to take a feature from brief to release without step-by-step handholding.
Experience with GraphQL or REST APIs and data fetching, caching, and client-side state management.
Commitment to building responsive, accessible interfaces and strong attention to performance.

Responsibilities

Build and improve responsive web experiences for collector-facing product.
Develop maintainable interfaces using React, TypeScript, and modern tooling.
Integrate with GraphQL APIs and collaborate with backend engineers on data needs and API contracts.
Own features from planning through implementation, testing, rollout, and improvements.
Build reusable components and consistent interaction patterns to accelerate delivery.
Ensure cross-device/browser usability, accessibility, loading states, and performance.
