Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead GNC and state estimation for Hivemind Enterprise. You will build the team, define the technical roadmap, and own the development of autopilot and flight-control software across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and flight testing.

You will guide algorithm development, establish reusable platform capabilities, and drive Runtime Assurance work while ensuring airworthiness evidence and strong customer collaboration across Shield AI’s

Qualifications

15+ years in GNC with hands-on flight controls, autopilot, navigation, and state estimation.
Proven track record shipping production autopilot or flight-control software.
Experience leading, hiring, and building a new engineering capability.
Strong C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python with real-time software experience.

Responsibilities

Define HME GNC and state estimation roadmap and strategy.
Build and mentor a new engineering team.
Lead hands-on development of guidance, navigation, and estimation algorithms.
Deliver production autopilot and flight-control software from models to deployment.
Develop reusable GNC platform and modular interfaces.
Accelerate simulation-to-flight through high-fidelity models and HIL/V&I testing.
Partner on RTA and airworthiness evidence with customers and safety teams.
Foster trusted technical partnerships across Shield AI.
