Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Virginia seeks a Guidance Navigation Control (GNC) Engineer Level 2 to join a Space Sector team onsite in Dulles, VA or McLean, VA. You will help define and test GNC hardware and software for DoD, NASA, and commercial missions.

The role requires TS/SCI eligibility, MATLAB/C++ experience, and hands-on GNC design/analysis. 100% onsite with a 9/80 schedule and every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD TS/SCI clearance; US citizenship required.
• Level 2: Experience developing software in MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++.
• Experience in GNC subsystem design, analysis, and testing (ADCS).
• Familiarity with GNC space components: sun sensors, star trackers, GPS receivers, IMU, reaction wheels.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement of GNC component hardware.
• Lead domestic and international supplier meetings for procurement and testing of GNC hardware.
• Provide status tracking and close action items for your assigned GNC components throughout the program lifecycle.
• Perform trade studies for GNC hardware for proposal efforts.
• Perform GNC component requirement reviews via compliance matrices with multiple subsystems.
• Design and procure GNC test equipment (EGSE/GSE).
• Lead integration and testing of GNC hardware with spacecraft.
• Troubleshoot GNC hardware anomalies using manuals and documentation.
