Job summary
United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an experienced GNC Engineer for the Starshield Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS). You will design, implement, test, and optimize satellite GNC software and autonomy, balancing thermal, power, momentum, and payload pointing while integrating with other subsystems.
The role requires strong C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink skills, plus experience in attitude determination and state estimation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, CS, or an engineering discipline.
- Experience with C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink.
- Experience with attitude determination or state estimation algorithms.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement satellite GNC software across flight phases.
- Design CONOPs balancing thermal constraints, power budgets, momentum, and payload pointing.
- Develop and flight-test onboard GNC algorithms for autonomy and fault tolerance.
- Maintain GNC software configurations for design revisions.
- Perform high-fidelity 6DOF simulations and Monte Carlo analyses.
- Lead hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) testing and data review automation.
- Interface with thermal, power, and communications teams for system-level design.
