Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Chandler, Arizona, seeks a GNC Engineer: Actuators (Level 3 or 4) to join our Flight Sciences group within Guidance, Navigation, and Control software. In this full-time, on-site role, you will contribute to actuation systems for launch vehicle and space development programs.

This position follows a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off and is 100% on-site. You will model, simulate, and analyze actuator systems using MATLAB, Simulink, C++, and Python, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years, or Master's with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year experience (Level 3).
• Hands-on actuator modeling, analysis, and simulation experience.
• Experience with electromechanical or electro-hydraulic actuation systems.
• Experience developing and correlating actuator models to test data.
• Experience with PID-based control approaches and control-system design.
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and apply actuator system models in MATLAB, Simulink, C++, and Python.
• Analyze and simulate electromechanical and electro-hydraulic actuation systems.
• Support design/analysis of actuator control systems and PID approaches.
• Compare simulation results with test data and update models to improve correlation.
• Support development of actuator performance requirements and review test data.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to meet program objectives.
• Other duties as assigned.
