Job summary

Civica RX is seeking an Engineer II: Utilities & HVAC for a project-based role at its Petersburg, VA site. The engineer will serve as SME for GMP utility systems, critical HVAC, and ancillary systems, ensuring compliant, safe, cost-effective operation and driving continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include leading design, verification, and startup activities for the new facility, developing documentation, and coordinating with operations for reliable performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant sciences with 6+ years GMP Utilities experience.
• Start-up experience is preferred.
• Advanced degrees or certification relevant to the role are a plus.
• Ability to think strategically and tactically with attention to detail.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills; ability to work in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.
• Proven track record of delivering on deadlines in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for GMP HVAC, GMP Utilities and related systems within the facility.
• Ensure alignment of processes with regulatory Industry Civica Standards.
• Support risk assessments and participate in teams or individually to achieve goals.
• Lead or participate in projects for system design, verification (IV/OV/PQ) and capital delivery.
• Develop URs, specifications, test cases to demonstrate proper installation and startup.
• Monitor KPI’s and ensure systems operate within controlled parameters.
• Provide operating instructions and technical guidance to maintenance and operations.
• Support inspections and investigations (Quality and HSE).
