Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Huntsville, Alabama seeks a Project Manager, Permit & Communications Lead to head permitting, regulatory engagement, and stakeholder relations for a GMP manufacturing program.

You will act as the primary interface with regulators and local authorities, coordinating environmental approvals and governance across disciplines. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Public Policy, Communications, Planning, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience supporting permitting, stakeholder engagement, environmental compliance, communications, or project management on major capital projects, including projects exceeding $500 million TIC.
• Experience managing permitting, regulatory affairs, environmental compliance, stakeholder engagement, communications, or infrastructure delivery teams on major capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting, regulatory engagement, stakeholder management, and communications strategies for all project phases.
• Serve as primary interface with regulatory agencies, local authorities, community organizations, and other external stakeholders.
• Oversee submission and approvals of permits, licenses, and environmental authorizations.
• Establish governance, schedules, and reporting for permitting activities.
• Coordinate with engineering, environmental, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to integrate permitting into planning.
• Direct public relations, community outreach, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
• Manage communications consultants and external advisors to ensure compliant execution.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement mitigation strategies for risks.
• Prepare executive-level communications, stakeholder briefings, and regulatory submissions.
• Develop stakeholder engagement plans and issue management processes for transparent communications.
