Job summary

Axogen is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Technician to oversee reliable operation, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of critical facility systems at the Vandalia location. You will lead daily operations across HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and building management to support temperature-controlled storage of biologic products, while upholding GMP and safety standards.

Requires high school diploma, 0–2 years in facilities maintenance, CMRT and EPA 608 or HVAC/electrical certs; 3rd

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High school diploma or GED.
• Able to work 3rd shift (11pm–7:30am).
• 0–2 years of relevant facilities maintenance experience.
• Experience with HVAC, Refrigeration and electrical systems preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage system modifications and equipment changes.
• Experience in GMP / Regulated industries.
• CMRT certification and EPA 608 or HVAC/Electrical licenses.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and reliability of critical facility systems including HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical infrastructure.
• Execute and manage preventive maintenance programs in compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee modification of facility equipment, furniture, and layout as needed.
• Manage contractors and vendors ensuring GMP, safety, and site hazard compliance.
• Respond to facility emergencies with minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and utilize site systems for tracking and reporting.
• Work with engineering, quality, regulatory and operations teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
