Job summary

Ocular Therapeutix, Inc. based in Bedford, MA, seeks an experienced HVAC Engineer, Facilities to design, operate, and maintain GMP and non-GMP HVAC systems supporting formulation, development, and commercialization of ophthalmic therapies.

This individual contributor role works with Maintenance, Calibration, I&C and Quality to ensure reliable HVAC performance, regulatory compliance, and ongoing CMMS/BAS optimization across manufacturing and office spaces.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical or related engineering field.
• At least 10 years of HVAC experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Knowledge of FDA/EU cleanroom classifications (ISO7) and cGMP requirements.
• Experience with GxP manufacturing, utility and facility equipment design and maintenance.
• Proven leadership in project support and sustaining operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design, specification, and selection of HVAC and AHU for GMP/non-GMP spaces.
• Ensure 24/7 HVAC operation for ISO7 clean rooms, QC labs, and offices.
• Develop and improve preventive maintenance plans and SOPs.
• Coordinate with BAS/BMS integration and CMMS for scheduling and documentation.
• Support facility calibration, validation, and energy optimization initiatives.
