Job summary

Merck & Co. Animal Health in New Jersey is seeking a GMP Analytical Scientist for a newly established GMP laboratory. The role focuses on validating methods for APIs, excipients, and formulated products, supporting pilot manufacturing, and collaborating with R&D to meet project timelines.

You will work with chromatography, dissolution, particle size, and other analytical techniques, maintain documentation, and ensure data integrity under SOP governance. Travel 10% and regular shift.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or other scientific discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of pharmaceutical experience.
• GMP environment experience and SOP governance understanding.

Responsibilities

• Execute GMP method validation for APIs, excipients, and formulated drug products (e.g., tablets, topicals, solutions, implants).
• Support a pilot manufacturing plant through testing of APIs, excipients, packaging materials, and cleaning samples.
• Collaborate with R&D project leads to assess needs, timelines, and prioritization.
• Maintain high-quality documentation and data integrity and prepare technical reports.
