Lum's Chevrolet GMC in McMinnville, OR is hiring a certified GM Technician to diagnose and repair all vehicle systems. The role requires 3+ years of technician experience and GM Certification, with responsibilities spanning engine, electrical, transmission, and braking diagnostics.

You will test drive, use diagnostic equipment, communicate with the Service Advisor, and provide accurate repair time estimates.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Service Technician experience required.
• GM Certification required.
• A-level qualifications including diagnostic, electrical and engine repair.
• Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies.
• Basic computer skills and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles and components using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical and brakes.
• Communicate with Service Advisor to inform customers of additional services.
• Provide time estimates for additional repairs and execute warranty work per specs.

GM Certified Technician Responsibilities:

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
• Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday, day shift (flexible schedule - willing to consider four 10 hour shifts, three 12 shifts, etc.)

Pay: $45-$55 per flat rate hour, depending on experience and certifications

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of Service Technician experience required
• GM Certification required
• A-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies
• Basic computer skills

Education:

• High school or equivalent

Experience:

• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Technician Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
