Join to apply for the GM Certified Mechanic/Technician - Experienced role at Bowser Automotive Inc.

Due to our business growth, we are seeking an experienced GM Certified Mechanic/Technician (Flat Rate) with PA State Emissions and Inspection License in our Service Department at our Monroeville, PA location. Customer Service is our primary focus, and the ideal candidate will deliver excellent customer service daily.

All applicants are required to successfully complete pre-employment screenings. Valid driver’s license required. ASE Certification preferred.

DUTIES
Position Overview

The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards.

Job Functions
  1. Receive repair orders from dispatcher and perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  2. Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs.
  3. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
  4. Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  5. Advise service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
  6. Document work performed.
  7. Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
  8. Attend factory-sponsored training classes. Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
  9. Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean.
  10. Maintain cleanliness of shop area.
  11. Accountable for all dealership-owned tools.
  12. Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
  13. Road-test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
  14. Abide by safety rules, regulations, and procedures endorsed by Bowser Automotive Inc. and enforced by management.
  15. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • ASE Certification preferred.
  • PA Emissions and Inspection License.
  • General mechanical skills.
  • Good driving record.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Good Judgment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Demonstrate professional personal behavior.
  • Conduct oneself and dress properly to bring credibility to the dealership.

Requirements
