Job summary

The Equipment Operator role at IDS PWM Airport in South Portland, ME focuses on safe and efficient operation of glycol recovery and recycling equipment within a full-time schedule. You will collect spent aircraft deicing fluid, monitor systems, perform testing and documentation, and maintain equipment while complying with safety and environmental standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math skills, and intermediate computer proficiency with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Successful completion of all required classroom and on-the-job training programs.
• Intermediate computer proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and interpret safety rules and maintenance manuals.
• Strong basic math skills (rates, ratios, percentages, measurements).
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform equipment maintenance tasks.
• Must be able to work AM or PM shifts.
• Driving record that meets company insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate glycol recovery and processing equipment per procedures and safety standards.
• Collect spent aircraft deicing fluid (SADF) minimizing product loss or environmental release.
• Monitor and maintain glycol processing and recycling systems for optimum performance.
• Perform quality assurance, sampling, testing, and reporting per SOPs and regulations.
• Complete preventive maintenance and repairs, including components, valves, meters, sensors, and plumbing as directed.
• Conduct truck transfer operations, including loading/unloading tankers and transferring fluids.
• Support glycol recovery activities and keep equipment/tools in safe condition.
• Collaborate with airport authorities, contractors, and team members while following security procedures.
