Job summary

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. is seeking an Analytical Scientist (Scientist 2 or Sr. Scientist 1) onsite in Novato, CA, to lead glycan characterization and multi‑modal analytical development for our protein/biologic programs.

The role emphasizes LC‑MS, HILIC, cIEF/icIEF, SEC/IEX, and regulatory readiness. Ideal candidates will have deep glycan analytical expertise, strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, and experience supporting regulatory submissions across global agencies, with a track

Qualifications

PhD or MS with relevant post‑graduate experience in analytical sciences for biologics.
Experience in glycan characterization and multiple analytical modalities.
Familiarity with USP, ICH, and global regulatory expectations.

Responsibilities

Lead analytical method development and transfer for DS/DP across clinical and commercial portfolios.
Support regulatory submissions by authoring analytical sections and addressing agency queries.
Develop and optimize chromatography, capillary, spectroscopy, and MS-based methods focusing on Glycan Analysis.
Prepare, review, and approve analytical protocols and reports.
Mentor junior scientists and collaborate across Analytical Sciences, Process Development, Quality, and Regulatory.
