Job summary

Rivian in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Global Supply Manager to lead end-to-end sourcing strategy for vehicle programs, negotiating terms, and managing supplier relationships to protect Rivian’s financial and production interests.

The role emphasizes project management, cross-functional collaboration, and driving cost efficiency across Power Distribution commodities within a multi-generational vehicle strategy. This onsite position reports to the Senior Manager, Global Supply Management.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree and minimum 3 years direct procurement experience.
• Domain Expertise: Negotiation and technical experience for the assigned commodity; automotive background preferred and knowledge of cost estimation models.
• Commodity-Specific Experience: Experience sourcing Power Distribution commodities and related components.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in SAP and Basecamp; able to use cost estimating outputs to close should-cost gaps.
• Communication: Professional interpersonal and presentation skills; able to defuse conflicts and provide feedback.
• Execution: Ability to work on problems of diverse scope with good judgment.
• Operational Style: Comfortable with general instructions and independent day-to-day work.
• Travel Requirements: Willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing projects for Power Distribution commodities with medium to large spend; drive competitive bid processes.
• Use supply chain systems to place RFI/RFPs and purchase orders accurately; improve system functionality.
• Lead supplier prospecting and develop commodity strategies; monitor market landscapes to mitigate risks.
• Negotiate most commercial terms and LTAs; close cost gaps using cost estimates with some oversight.
• Build and maintain relationships with Tier 1 account and program managers; understand sub-supplier footprint.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders; provide forecasting and cost inputs for long-term plans.
• Lead small projects with autonomy; identify and resolve low-complexity risks promptly.
