Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a WiFi Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of large-scale, global network modernization for the U.S. Department of State’s DT bureau.

The role spans 24x7 operations, security integration, and service management across regions with a focus on scalable, automated, AI-augmented solutions. You will collaborate with DT and the Program Director to define outputs, lead a technical team, evolve the enterprise architecture, and

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years’ technical network experience.
• CWNE or CCIE Wireless certification.
• Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• CISSP certification.
• Experience with large/complex network modernization.
• Experience with load balancing, routing, switching, firewalls, congestion management, and micro-segmentation.
• Deep understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, NIST frameworks, and gov standards.
• SDN/SD-WAN, container networking, virtualization, and cloud-focused networking.
• Experience with major vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Juniper, HPE, Avaya).
• Enterprise WiFi design and mesh solutions.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
• Experience with ServiceNow ITSM and DevOps/IaC (Python, Git).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of global network modernization initiatives.
• Oversee 24x7 worldwide network operations and security integration.
• Define outputs, outcomes, and adoption framework with stakeholders.
• Develop architecture artifacts, telemetry, and governance for network systems.
• Mentor senior staff and collaborate with other technical leaders.
• Ensure alignment with cybersecurity objectives and compliance requirements.
