Job summary

OpenAI, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Network Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, activate, and operate the company's global WAN infrastructure across data centers, PoPs, and cloud connectivity environments.

You will own end-to-end activation of circuits, work with fiber carriers and cloud providers to establish reliable connectivity, and troubleshoot issues across Layer 1–3. You will build automation to scale network operations while collaborating with internal teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying, activating, and troubleshooting WAN circuits.
• Strong networking fundamentals: optical networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, BGP, Layer 2/3 connectivity.
• Experience with data center networking, carrier infra, cloud interconnects, or large-scale WAN environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and support WAN infrastructure across data centers, PoPs, and cloud environments.
• Own end-to-end activation and turn-up of network circuits with carriers and cloud providers.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues across physical, Layer 2, and Layer 3 infrastructure; diagnose root causes.
• Build automation to streamline provisioning, deployment validation, troubleshooting, and operations.
