Job summary

Meta's Network Infrastructure team seeks a Network Production Engineer to design, build, and operate our vast backbone, data center, and AI networking platforms. You will develop scalable solutions and automation to support billions of users across Meta apps.

You will lead automation efforts, contribute to release engineering, and collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to enhance reliability, scalability, and efficiency of global networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience planning, designing, building, and/or operating scalable and reliable systems and/or networks.
• Experience coding in at least one programming language and rapidly learning new languages, software, frameworks, and APIs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, Routing Protocols (e.g., BGP, MPLS, ISIS), and related network services (DHCP, DNS).
• Experience with multi-vendor network device configuration (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade).
• Experience in configuration and maintenance of network devices and NMS or related applications.

Responsibilities

• Establish and implement global best practices and design new scalable network solutions.
• Conceptualize, build, and maintain automation and tools to support product introductions, network deployment, release engineering, and operations.
• Design and develop solutions that scale across hardware platforms of network equipment.
• Lead enhancements of automation for CI, validations, testing infrastructure, release, and configuration management across backbone, data center, and edge networks.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and sourcing teams to develop networking solutions and influence the future of networking infrastructure.
• Investigate complex technical issues across networks, from automated tooling to hardware failures.
• Develop operational process improvements and implement scalable, automated workflows.
• Identify roadblocks, design automation solutions, and drive change across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation to learn from production challenges and improve products.
• Contribute to team growth through peer mentorship.
