Job summary

VIGILINT is seeking a highly qualified surgeon to join a deployable medical team that delivers acute care in austere environments. The role requires leadership, extensive operative experience, and the ability to provide expert surgical consultation in challenging settings.

Candidates must hold an MD/DO, be board-certified in surgery, and maintain an active US medical license. Prior military/government deployment and security clearances are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET or higher security clearance.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States or U.S. Territory.
• Current Board Certification through the American Board of Surgery or American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited U.S. school.
• Minimum of five (5) years as staff or attending Surgeon in a high volume/acuity environment.
• Minimum of eight (8) years experience as a Surgeon.
• U.S. Military or Government Sponsored deployment within the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Practice acute care surgery in austere and limited resource environments.
• Perform required surgery and damage control procedures.
• Provide consultation to patients as the surgical SME and supervise care.
• Conduct and supervise patient care during resuscitation and perioperative phases.
• Plan and may conduct Critical Care Air Transport missions for ICU patients.
• Document care and medical records per VIGILINT policy.
