Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a transaction-focused attorney to join the Office of the General Counsel as Lead Counsel, Transactions and Market Compliance. You will provide practical, business-oriented legal support to Ford Corporate Development, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions on US and cross-border matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.

This hands-on role requires delivering timely, clear legal guidance to senior leaders, drafting and negotiating

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active US State Bar admission.
• At least 5 years of M&A, JV, and complex transactions experience.
• Experience advising on global supply chain transactions.
• Ability to negotiate with US and international counterparties.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support workstreams on M&A, divestitures, carve-outs, minority investments, collaborations, and JVs.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents and related agreements.
• Support Ford's global supply chain transactions and supplier matters.
• Negotiate with counterparties, suppliers, and JV partners domestically and internationally.
• Advise management on risk, governance, and execution strategy.
• Identify AI, automation, and legal tech opportunities to improve speed and quality.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and manage outside counsel workstreams.
• Contribute to templates, playbooks, and precedent libraries.
• Support enterprise priorities in electrification, software/connectivity, energy, and government programs.
