Job summary

TPS Group is seeking a Global Trade Customs Program Manager to lead and scale strategic customs and trade compliance programs across its global supply chain, including CTPAT/AEO, Dangerous Goods, and governance.

The ideal candidate has strong trade compliance expertise, program-building experience with regulators, and the ability to partner across Logistics, Legal, IT, and Finance. Location: San Jose, CA or Irvine, CA; hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Must have 7–10 years of experience in global trade, customs compliance, or supply chain trade programs.
• Experience building or scaling compliance programs, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
• Strong program and stakeholder management with executive communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with two of: CTPAT/AEO, Dangerous Goods/IATA/Hazmat, sustainability, or other customs trade programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead global customs and trade programs (CTPAT/AEO, DG/IATA/Hazmat, supply chain security, sustainability).
• Drive CTPAT and AEO certification efforts and support global certifications.
• Liaise with CBP and other regulatory authorities.
• Develop governance frameworks, internal controls, risk assessments, audits, and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory developments and adapt programs accordingly.
• Scale Dangerous Goods compliance across global operations.
• Identify opportunities to automate trade compliance using technology and AI-enabled tools.
• Partner with Logistics, Legal, IT, Finance, suppliers, brokers, and freight forwarders.
• Develop training, playbooks, and resources for stakeholders.
• Maintain readiness and report program risks and KPIs to leadership.

Duration: 12-month contract with strong intent to convert to full-time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week

Position Overview

A global technology and manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Global Trade Customs Program Manager to lead and scale strategic customs and trade compliance programs across its global supply chain.

This role will oversee initiatives spanning CTPAT/AEO, Dangerous Goods, customs compliance, supply chain security, sustainability, governance, and technology enablement. The ideal candidate combines strong trade compliance expertise with proven experience building programs, working with regulatory agencies, and partnering across complex global operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead global customs and trade programs, including CTPAT/AEO, Dangerous Goods/IATA/Hazmat, supply chain security, and sustainability.
• Drive CTPAT Trade Compliance certification efforts and support global AEO certifications.
• Serve as a key liaison with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and other regulatory authorities.
• Develop governance frameworks, internal controls, risk assessments, audit processes, and compliance procedures.
• Monitor regulatory developments and proactively adapt programs to changing requirements.
• Scale Dangerous Goods compliance across global operations and business units.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate trade compliance processes using technology, analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
• Partner cross-functionally with Logistics, Legal, IT, Finance, business teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
• Develop training, playbooks, and compliance resources for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain regulatory and audit readiness while providing leadership with reporting on program risks, performance, and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in global trade, customs compliance, or supply chain trade programs.
• Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: CTPAT/AEO, Dangerous Goods/IATA/Hazmat, supply chain sustainability, or customs trade programs.
• Experience working directly with CBP, customs authorities, or international regulatory bodies.
• Proven experience building or scaling compliance programs, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
• Strong program management, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
• Experience within semiconductor, electronics, high-tech manufacturing, or another complex global supply chain environment preferred.
• Licensed Customs Broker, Dangerous Goods certification, PMP, CUSECO, or similar certifications are a plus.
