Job summary

Thales is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist to support international trade operations. You will maintain import/export documentation, assist in product classification and country of origin determinations, and coordinate with customs brokers.

The role emphasizes compliance with U.S. laws and Thales policies, ERP integration (SAP), and cross‑functional teamwork. A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years in trade compliance are required, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business or related field.
• 3+ years in trade compliance, customs, or international logistics.
• Basic knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and Foreign Trade Regulations.
• Experience with HTS classification, valuation methods, and country of origin.
• Experience using ERP systems such as SAP.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate HTS code classification and country of origin determinations for all products.
• Assist in applying U.S. Customs valuation methods.
• Review and maintain import/export documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).
• Track international shipments for customs delays and regulatory holds.
• Support Customs programs such as Duty Drawback, Temporary Import Bonds, etc.
• Coordinate with customs brokers and freight forwarders for pre-clearance and shipping instructions.
• Support ERP integration of trade data (e.g., SAP material master).
• Assist with internal audits and CBP entry reviews.
• Provide reporting on trade compliance metrics and duty exposure.
