Job summary

Smith seeks a trade compliance professional to support Operations and Legal teams in the United States, ensuring adherence to regional and global regulations. You will collaborate with export licensing, quality control, and logistics partners to maintain accurate master data and compliant shipment practices.

You will advise management on regulatory changes, help execute audits, and foster compliant business behavior across the organization while balancing operational goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of trade compliance experience
• HTS database management experience
• Experience in the semiconductor/electronics distribution industry preferred
• Proficient oral and written English communication
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics or supply chain or equivalent experience
• ECTI certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Understand regional and global rules and regulatory requirements and advise management/adapt processes as needed
• Ensure compliance with import/export controls and related regulatory requirements
• Provide trade compliance guidance and support to internal stakeholders
• Assist in internal and external audits related to trade compliance and implement corrective actions
• Research and maintain customs-related master data (e.g., part type classifications) with Export Licensing/Quality Control teams
• Coordinate with third-party service providers to ensure proper execution and documentation of international shipments
• Investigate and report unusual activity that may indicate violations and escalate to senior management
