Job summary

Four Hands in Austin, Texas, seeks a Trade Compliance Specialist to manage customs documentation and ensure efficient, compliant movement of goods across U.S./Canada borders. You will work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to uphold recordkeeping and accurate classifications.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in import/export operations, strong attention to detail, and experience with ACE/ABI or broker portals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in import/export operations, logistics, supply chain, or customs brokerage.
• Working knowledge of customs documentation and the import entry process.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and data-entry accuracy.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets and ERP, trade, or logistics systems.
• Experience with ACE/ABI or customs broker portals is preferred.
• Experience with Canadian customs processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Compile and transmit shipment data to customs brokers for timely filings.
• Review entry documents for completeness and resolve discrepancies.
• Apply HTS classifications and assist with research under supervision.
• Support post-entry activities and prepare documentation for corrections and protests.
• Audit entries against source documents and flag discrepancies.
• Track shipments and monitor clearance status with logs.
• Serve as daily contact for brokers and freight forwarders.
• Research and resolve routine holds and documentation discrepancies.
