Job summary

Expeditors in Austin, TX seeks a skilled Customs Compliance Professional to serve as primary branch contact for regulatory matters. The role focuses on troubleshooting, policy enforcement, and training to keep operations compliant.

You will review POA and importer questionnaires, monitor daily compliance activities, and coordinate with the Compliance Manager across the US/Canada regions. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Customs Broker’s License
• 3 years' experience in U.S. Customs brokerage
• Strong analytical ability
• Strong working knowledge of CFIT and Expeditors' import applications
• Proficiency in the following software products: MS Office - Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
• Customs business understanding; current customs environment
• Strong understanding of 19 CFR (Parts 1 – 199) and the HTSUSA
• Customer service skills to deal with branch personnel and external customers; ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization interfacing with supervisors, peers and clients
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks to completion simultaneously
• Research skills, problem solving and follow-up skills
• Ability to relate to clients, Customs and other government officials, and employees at all levels
• Hands-on knowledge of Operational Process Standards desk procedures
• Ability to articulate clearly through written and oral presentation

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary contact for the branch in customs and regulatory compliance.
• Enforce Expeditors' OPS policies and procedures.
• Review Powers of Attorney and Importer Questionnaire for POA validity.
• Conduct daily reviews via IDMA per the Import Daily Monitoring Program.
• Monitor customs rejections and report results to Compliance Manager.
• Prepare training sessions for entry personnel on compliance topics.
• Assist district compliance operations and coordinate with regional teams.
