A leading company in international e-commerce is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Manager to build and manage their global trade program from Portland, OR. This role involves extensive collaboration with customs brokers and freight forwarders, ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations, and adapting trade processes across jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trade compliance, data analytics skills, and a proactive approach to technology applications in this field.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience with U.S. Import and Export rules and regulations.
  • Operational knowledge of HTS/ECCN, Valuation, COO, FTA, etc.
  • Experience working with Middle East and Asian customs jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

  • Build a compliant and effective global trade program.
  • Develop comprehensive export procedures and maintain HS & ECCN Classification.
  • Implement processes for Restricted Party Screening and Know Your Customer.

Global Trade Compliance Manager TCRS4450

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Global Trade Compliance Manager will build a compliant and effective global trade program to support a newly formed international e-commerce company based in the Portland, OR area whose primary (but not exclusive) focus involves exports arranged at the request of FPPIs.

This is a remote position with some travel expectations.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Subject Matter Expert on all trade-related activities
  • In depth knowledge of U.S. Export regulations, including AES filing
  • Develop comprehensive export procedures to ensure compliance and drive efficiency
  • Determine and maintain HS & ECCN Classification for a variety of products
  • Partner with freight forwarders and brokers to build a seamless clearance process
  • Leverage technical solutions to create compliant export & import workflows
  • Implement processes for Restricted Party Screening and Know Your Customer
  • Ability to understand & adapt trade processes for various customs jurisdictions
  • Establish and maintain industry relationships to support best in class practices
  • Stay informed on current global import and export regulations shifts
  • Ability to translate complex trade regulations into operational processes
  • Strong data and analytics skills

ESSENTIALS

  • 5+ years' experience with U.S. Import and Export rules and regulations
  • Experience working with Middle East and Asian customs jurisdictions
  • Operational knowledge of HTS/ECCN, Valuation, COO, FTA, etc.
  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
