Job summary

Patagonia is seeking a Trade Compliance Leader to own and advance our global trade compliance program from Ventura, CA. You will partner with Sourcing, Product, Logistics, Finance, Legal, and IT to optimize duties, exposure, and cross-border movement while maintaining strong controls and governance.

You will guide risk-based programs (ISA, CTPAT), oversee classification, origin, and valuation processes, and drive automation and AI-enabled improvements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of general experience in business, supply chain, procurement or related field.
• 7+ years of experience applying trade compliance knowledge in operations and compliance settings.
• 5+ years’ experience interacting with government authorities (e.g., U.S. Customs).
• 5+ years’ experience leveraging technology, analytics, and automation to improve processes; AI-enabled tools a plus.
• 2+ years of direct management of a compliance team or equivalent.
• Experience leading large importer compliance programs (ISA, CTPAT, valuation, classification, origin, FTA governance).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Company’s primary point of contact with U.S. Customs and other government agencies; ensure end-to-end compliance while enabling efficient clearance.
• Own and evolve ISA program including risk assessment, controls testing, remediation, and reporting to leadership and agencies.
• Lead C-TPAT program including security risk assessments, partner validation, training, audits, and certification activities.
• Lead classification, valuation, origin, and entry governance with standard work, training, and quality controls.
• Develop tariff exposure models and what-if scenarios to support sourcing decisions and Incoterms negotiation.
• Drive technology modernization and AI-enabled efficiency gains across trade processes with IT and vendors.
