Job summary

GlobalFoundries in Malta, NY is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Intern to gain hands-on exposure to export/import operations, regulatory risk management, and policy developments affecting the semiconductor industry.

You will work with Global Trade Compliance professionals and partners to support compliant global operations while building practical knowledge of customs, export controls, sanctions, and supply chain processes.

Qualifications

• Sophomore at time of application pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in a related field.
• Overall GPA at least 3.0 and in good academic standing.
• English fluency for written and verbal communication.
• Availability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support export/import operations and trade risk management initiatives.
• Review shipment documentation, trade data, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor customs, export controls, and sanctions records and processes.
• Contribute to compliance programs and improve operational efficiency.
• Research trade regulations, customs requirements, and policy trends.
• Analyze trade data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Support audits, reporting, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Manufacturing, Legal, and Finance.
