Job summary

KLA in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Trade Compliance Engineer to ensure products and software comply with US export controls, sanctions, and global trade rules. You will be primary liaison between engineering, product, supply chain, legal, and trade compliance teams, supporting classification, licensing, technology transfers throughout product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong technical background, 5+ years in trade compliance or regulatory engineering, and experience with systems like SAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in trade compliance, export controls, customs compliance, or regulatory engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of export control and customs regulations.
• Experience with global trade management systems (SAP GTS, Oracle GTM, Descartes, MIC, OCR).

Responsibilities

• Perform classification of products, software, and tech for ECCN and HTS.
• Analyze BOMs and engineering docs for classification.
• Collaborate with engineering to understand product functionality and encryption features.
• Develop and improve classification processes.
• Support trade compliance initiatives and system integrations.
• Provide classification guidance and training across the enterprise.
• Other tasks as required.
