Job summary

Google LLC in New York, NY seeks a Technical Program Manager III for Infrastructure Capacity Planning within Global Infrastructure to lead end-to-end capacity forecasting and supply planning for dedicated resources.

You will coordinate with SREs, TIRMs, and PARMs across Cloud, Core, and TI, translate workloads into physical capacity, drive planning, and guide budgets and risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in program management.
• Experience with data analysis, business intelligence, or dashboarding tools (e.g., SQL or metrics platforms).
• Experience with infrastructure capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Own the capacity forecast for dedicated machine pools across all global clusters, modeling organic growth, new cluster turnups, and large inorganic service migrations.
• Translate logical resource demands into physical dedicated machine supply, ensuring every cell meets hardware platform rules and failure-domain minimums across switches and mzones.
• Drive two supply fulfillment paths for dedicated pools, placing long-lead orders with power validation, and executing faster shared-to-dedicated machine conversions by transferring donor quota and coordinating drains.
• Lead annual planning, allocation reconciliation, and the escalation cycle for specialty dedicated infrastructure orders.
• Partner with Compute Security Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Cluster Management TI Resource Managers (TIRMs), and migrating product area Product Area Resource Manager (PARMs) across Cloud, Core, Search, and Technical Infrastructure (TI) to unblock and onboard services without stocking out constrained clusters.
