Job summary

Valmet in Wisconsin seeks a Project Buyer to join the Global Supply Projects Procurement team. You will lead and coordinate the procurement of technical components for paper machine projects, working with project managers, engineering and assembly partners to ensure on-time delivery and value.

Responsibilities include analyzing drawings, supplier selection, bidding, expediting, and maintaining supplier performance while complying with budgets and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent training.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing procurement.
• Ability to read technical drawings and knowledge of CNC machining.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel/Outlook and ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Analyze sub-assemblies to determine procurement strategy.
• Manage purchasing process including supplier selection and expediting.
• Support project manager and engineering during manufacturing and assembly.
• Assist with assembly and testing in workshop.
• Provide technical support to suppliers.
• Track progress until shipment and maintain supplier list.
• Issue and track non-conformance reports.
• Ensure quality documents from suppliers.
• Create and verify material lists in ERP.
• Collaborate with engineering on mechanical design.
