Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a Controller of Technical Accounting & Policy to lead the company’s technical accounting function and global policy framework from the Corporate Controller Group.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to senior finance leadership, delivering timely accounting guidance on complex transactions and new standards. The role offers broad exposure across Cisco, including interactions with external auditors, and requires strong leadership, collaboration, and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or technical accounting at a large public company.
• Active CPA license.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, with experience authoring technical memos.

Responsibilities

• Lead Cisco's technical accounting function and global policy framework.
• Provide accounting guidance on significant transactions and new standards.
• Own the global accounting policy manual; draft and communicate policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external auditors.
• Monitor FASB, SEC, and IASB agendas and drive adoption.
• Provide training and promote automation in accounting research and policy governance.
