Job summary

POLITICO seeks an experienced Vice President, Global Controller to lead our global accounting function from Arlington, VA. You will partner with the CFO and Finance leadership to ensure accurate, scalable financial operations across US and European entities.

The role requires deep technical accounting expertise, strong business judgment, and a track record of transforming and automating financial processes while building a high-performing global team.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience at an international group.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong IFRS and US GAAP knowledge, multi-entity consolidation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead global close and IFRS consolidation with regional controllers.
• Define accounting policy and final voice on complex judgments (e.g., revenue recognition).
• Oversee statutory reporting and filings across jurisdictions with external accountants.
• Own ICFR framework and liaise with external auditors and Internal Audit.
• Oversee tax accounting, transfer pricing, and indirect tax compliance.
• Support acquisitions through due diligence, QOE, and integration.
• Lead purchase accounting and impairment testing.
• Drive finance process automation (Workday, Salesforce) and close improvements.
• Build and develop a global accounting team.
