Job summary

Ladders, a leader in Consumer Technology, seeks a Director of Tax to oversee the global tax function, including income tax provision, compliance, transfer pricing, and indirect tax matters across jurisdictions.

Based in San Francisco, CA, you will partner with Accounting, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Development to support strategic decisions, M&A activity, and public company readiness, building a scalable, compliant tax function.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including Big 4 and in-house roles.
• Deep expertise in U.S. federal and state income tax, ASC 740, and indirect tax compliance.
• Experience leading the tax provision process end-to-end, coordinating with external auditors.
• Demonstrated experience in M&A tax workstreams.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Legal, Accounting, and FP&A.
• CPA, JD, or Master’s in Taxation required.

Responsibilities

• Own the company’s global tax strategy across all jurisdictions.
• Lead quarterly and annual income tax provision, including documentation and disclosures.
• Oversee direct tax matters, including compliance and transfer pricing.
• Manage indirect tax strategy and compliance, including sales and use tax.
• Partner with Corporate Development on M&A tax due diligence and deal structuring.
• Serve as a trusted tax advisor across multiple departments.
• Prepare the tax function for public company readiness, ensuring SOX compliance.
