Amazon is seeking a high-judgment and self-motivated communications professional to join our Worldwide Sustainability Communications team. You will help identify and rapidly respond to emerging topics impacting our Climate Pledge and energy strategy, including carbon-free progress and water efficiency, in a fast-paced, matrixed global environment.

The role requires excellent media relations, writing, and the ability to develop forward-looking scenario plans for potential negative news cycles

Qualifications

5+ years of professional communications or public relations experience.
Experience in stakeholder and communication management.
Experience communicating results to senior leadership or in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Understand the Sustainability business and evolving media landscape.
Communicate complex sustainability, energy, decarbonization, water issues with a clear narrative.
Support reactive media engagement programs for sustainability initiatives and events.
Build relationships with media outlets and manage negative stories.
Represent Amazon as a spokesperson and collaborate across teams.
Address media inquiries and provide strategic counsel to leaders.
