Job summary

AbbVie’s Clinical Development Operations seeks a Study Feasibility Associate Director to partner with study teams on design feasibility, country/site strategy, protocol review, and patient burden assessments impacting recruitment and timelines.

The role requires leading cross-functional discussions with senior AbbVie leaders, guiding global phase 2/3 feasibility and recruitment planning across 35+ countries with large teams and budgets, and delivering analytical insights.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of pharmaceutical related experience with at least 5 years in clinical research/project leadership.
• Drug development and/or scientific project leadership experience preferred
• Therapeutic area background in Oncology, Neurology, or Immunology preferred
• Strong working knowledge of pharma drug development processes
• Recognized contributor in complex scientific analyses and decision making
• Demonstrated leadership skills with broad scientific, strategic, and business orientations

Responsibilities

• Dynamic leader who designs, prepares, and facilitates cross-functional global strategy discussions that can include 20 or more senior level AbbVie leaders to assess operational feasibility and optimize/develop effective execution strategies.
• Responsible to support strategic planning for delivery of global phase 2 and phase 3 clinical trials within Abbvie portfolio. Large Scale studies may be conducted in over 35 countries, supported by teams of 250 or more AbbVie study team members with study budgets exceeding 200 million dollars.
• Responsible for matrix management to help drive analytical insights and study recruitment planning across multiple AbbVie functional teams.
• Conducts detailed scientific, analytical, and operational analyses to prepare for and support study team engagements.
• Provides scientific and strategic consultation on country strategy, site selection, protocol and patient burden, recruitment, and timelines.
• Identifies and analyzes important connections within and across therapeutic areas to optimize study performance at the portfolio level.
• Leads and manages projects to continuously improve Study Feasibility & Recruitment team capabilities and impacts.
