Job summary

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) is seeking a Financial Specialist for the Global School to oversee budgeting, tracking, and auditing of study abroad program centers. The role partners with GEO staff, faculty program directors, campus partners, and university offices to ensure timely and compliant fiscal processes that support the Global Projects Program and long-term center sustainability.

Responsibilities include advising program directors on budget development, managing a $7.5 million

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with financial, travel, purchasing, or reconciliations in higher education or regulated environments.
• Experience using financial systems to support transactions, reconciliations, payroll, hiring, or related processes.
• Strong communication with partners across departments.
• Working knowledge of Workday and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Advise and guide study abroad program directors on budget development.
• Manage a portfolio of study abroad programs within a $7.5 million operation.
• Process payroll transactions and reconcile travel and vendor payments.
• Review contracts and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain financial records and reporting analyses.
• Collaborate with Finance, Talent and Inclusion, Financial Aid and other offices.
