Job summary

Northeastern University’s Office of Global Services seeks an International Student & Scholar Advisor (ISSA) to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO). The ISSA supports international students and scholars by providing comprehensive nonimmigrant advising, SEVIS record maintenance, and regulatory training across campuses.

The role involves advising on immigration compliance, facilitating employment authorizations, and collaborating with campus partners

Qualifications

U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency required for DS0/ARO roles.
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience working with SEVIS to process documentation, maintain records, and comply with regulatory reporting.
Experience with international students/scholars populations preferred.

Responsibilities

Advise F-1 and J-1 students and scholars to maintain status and ensure proper employment authorization.
Create and maintain SEVIS records and reportable events.
Stay current on federal regulations, SEVIS procedures, and OGS policies.
Advise departments on regulatory requirements and institutional policies.
Coordinate with DHS, SEVP, DOS, CBP, and USCIS on student requests and travel.
