Job summary

George Washington University’s International Services Office seeks a Manager of International Student and Scholar Advising to lead immigration compliance for F-1 and J-1 students and scholars, supervise two staff, and oversee exchange programs.

Responsibilities include advising on status changes, school transfers, and employment authorizations, and representing ISO in meetings with University leadership and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of relevant professional experience, or Master’s degree plus 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position.
• Substitution with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, approves, and prepares I-20 and DS-2019 forms and monitors SEVIS data.
• Provides holistic advising to international students and scholars on immigration and compliance.
• Oversees Exchange Coordinator and inbound international exchanges and relationships with partner programs.
• Supervises the Senior International Services Associate and daily J-1 scholar process oversight.
• Represents the ISO at internal and external meetings as required.
