Job summary

Rutgers University is seeking an International Student Advisor within Rutgers Global to support international students’ immigration needs and provide comprehensive student services. The role involves advising on SEVIS-related processes, coordinating with campus partners, and delivering front-line guidance to students.

As a core member of the ISSS team, you will help manage orientation activities, collaborate across offices, and ensure compliance with federal regulations while supporting program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience in student affairs or advising in higher education.
• Strong organizational, communication, and data-management abilities.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and immigration-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Advise and support international students regarding immigration status and related matters.
• Serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) for SEVIS processing and student records.
• Provide first-level advising on programs, services, and campus resources.
• Interact with students through front desk, phone, workshops, and email communications.
• Support advisors in academic status changes and CPT/OPT processes; engage in student programming.
• Provide administrative support for orientation activities and office procedures.
• Collaborate with Rutgers Global offices and campus partners on international student matters.
• Perform other duties as required.
