Job summary

The Michaels Companies Inc. in Irving, Texas seeks a Director – Global Sourcing to guide strategy and lead a team in driving direct import growth, vendor engagement, and cost/value optimization.

You will collaborate with Merchandising, Product Lifecycle Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Legal, manage 2–4 direct reports and travel internationally to build a global vendor network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• MBA or master’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive Direct Import growth through effective product lifecycle management.
• Develop category sourcing plans and ensure execution of the Plans.
• Lead 2–4 direct reports and manage a network of vendor/agent relationships globally.
• Establish and deploy business processes for vendor engagement, capacity planning, production execution.
• Be the key internal liaison between Merchandising, Product Lifecycle Management, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Agents, Vendors, Legal and Inventory Management.
• Travel internationally to identify, evaluate, and manage a global vendor and agent network.
