Job summary

TMEIC in Houston seeks a skilled procurement professional to source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to optimize cost, quality, and service. You will manage supplier performance, analyze data, and coordinate with project managers on delivery schedules.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of purchasing experience in industrial settings, strong negotiation abilities, and travel readiness up to 10%. Proficiency with ERP, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience.
• 2 years of experience purchasing in an industrial or commercial environment.
• 1 year of experience sourcing new suppliers.
• Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
• Proven working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal/external contacts.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and ERP.
• Availability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and service goals.
• Bring business unit needs to mitigate supply and delivery risks and implement approved solutions.
• Research new equipment suppliers using the company's quality system.
• Identify and develop new suppliers to support business unit needs and lower costs.
• Negotiate terms, payment terms, and other financial terms with suppliers as requested.
• Generate ERP buyer's reports and prioritize requisitions for processing.
• Organize supplier meetings to update engineers on technology and products.
• Notify expeditors of urgent orders and collaborate with management on delivery schedules.
