Job summary

Exelixis is seeking a Senior Director, Clinical Operations to oversee worldwide execution of oncology Phase I–IV trials. You will lead delivery plans, manage resources and CRO/vendor partnerships, and ensure data integrity, regulatory compliance, and timely study delivery across programs.

In this role you will drive strategy with PDTs, supervise a team of Study Delivery Leads, and work with cross-functional partners to optimize budgets and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of related experience; or Master’s with 13+; or PhD with 12+; or equivalent combination.
• Typically requires 18+ years in Biotech/Pharma with management and outsourcing to CROs.
• Demonstrates leadership, budgeting, stakeholder management and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational delivery plan for oncology trials (Phase 1–4) in partnership with SMEs.
• Lead resourcing decisions, approve the Clinical Operations FTE plan, and manage CRO/vendor relationships.
• Ensure program execution with quality, budget adherence, risk management, and inspection readiness.
• Represent Clinical Operations on PDTs and governance boards; drive innovation and external collaboration.
• Mentor Study Delivery Leads and Indication Leads; manage budgets for governance groups.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Medical and Data teams to align study delivery.
