Job summary

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Sr. Global Commodity Manager for Semiconductors to lead supplier management, introduce new suppliers, and develop long-term commodity strategy. This role partners with engineering and operations to align design roadmaps with sourcing and cost goals.

You will drive supplier performance, facilitate cross-functional programs, and travel ~25% to domestic and international sites while shaping a robust semiconductor supply base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, information technology or equivalent.
• 5+ years of supply chain management, planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management or program management experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings, or experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Experience creating an innovative global supply strategy for the organization resulting in a tangible benefit to the business.
• Experience in strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis.
• 7+ years of experience in supply chain, commodity management, and supplier management in a high-volume, global manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability, capacity planning, contracting, risk mitigation, and cost and quality improvements.
• Collaborating with technical operations, engineering, and program teams on new product introduction programs to define standard and custom product requirements to ensure that sourcing strategies meet the technical capabilities, cost, and business objectives.
• Developing efficient and accurate mechanisms for communicating forecast and capacity requirements for sustaining and new products.
• Supporting the purchasing and planning teams by monitoring supplier performance and addressing supply and/or quality issues.
• Aligning supplier strategies to Robotics objectives for sustaining production and new product release.
• Developing a commodity and supplier technology roadmap, aligning business requirements with supplier capabilities.
• Responsible for maintaining monthly supplier scorecards and conducting quarterly executive business reviews.
• Periodic travel to supplier’s domestic and international manufacturing sites, approximately 25%.
