Job description

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Global Security Technician to join our team in the Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. The Global Security Technician III (GSC) Technician III demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
2. Applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures for the particular area of specialization.
3. Demonstrates knowledge of the organization’s business practices and issues.
4. The successful candidate typically possesses 5–8 years of successful experience in communications or a related field and successfully demonstrates key responsibilities and knowledge; provides operations and maintenance support to multiple tactical and land mobile radio systems.
5. Acts as subject matter expert on networking and other communications equipment providers’ (e.g., Harris, Exelis, Kenwood) equipment and provides O&M support.
6. Proficient in communications surveys, new installations, and preventative maintenance for vehicle and fixed-site systems, COMSEC management, frequency management, training, and depot-level repair for radios.
7. Develops and conducts training for U.S. Government personnel and private contractors regarding the proper use, care, maintenance, and preventative maintenance of assigned systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Minimum of five (5) years technical and related experience in the field of coordination and technical support for modern communication systems.
2. Minimum of two (2) years hands-on work experience with PRC-type I encrypted radios. Experience with COMSEC policies and procedures.
3. Possesses knowledge of RF theory and principle, and the effects of systems operating in an electronic countermeasures environment.
4. Excellent technical knowledge of RF Communications (VHF/UHF/SATCOM/Radio).
5. Must be able to specify RF communication equipment compatible with CREW systems.
6. Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
7. Domestic travel may be required for training and program coordination.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. May be required to travel OCONUS to conduct installation, training, or maintenance at diplomatic facilities.
2. OCONUS travel may include critical threat locations around the world with austere living conditions.

Clearance Requirements:

1. Must have a current/active Top-Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

1. Moves about inside an office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
2. Uses a computer and other office equipment.
3. Occasionally works on concrete shop floors, server rooms, and positions self inside vehicles to work in cramped and awkward positions.
4. May work outdoors in all types of terrain and weather conditions.
5. Grasps, positions and assembles equipment.
6. Occasionally ascends/descends radio/communication towers to install and fix equipment.
7. Communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
