We are seeking a Global Sample Services Specialist. The Global Sample Services Specialist supports the intake, tracking, quality control, compliance readiness, and global distribution of chemistries and related materials for use in R&D trials/experiments. This role is expected to execute independently within established processes, resolve routine logistics and documentation issues, elevate non‑routine or high‑risk issues appropriately, and coordinate across global R&D, stewardship, regulatory, legal/contracts, EHS, and operations stakeholders. The role helps ensure accurate and timely chemistry flow across global R&D trials, including coordination of permits, stewardship requirements, location‑specific shipping/testing requests, and business‑process support for Vylor tracking and management system updates.

What You'll Do
Chemistry Logistics Management
  • Manage end-to-end logistics for chemistries used in R&D trials within the Vylor platform, including procurement, receipt, labeling, chain-of-custody documentation, storage, and shipment.
  • Ensure chemistries are handled, labeled, and documented in accordance with trial protocols, safety data requirements, stewardship expectations, permits, and applicable regulatory guidance.
  • Coordinate requests and maintain location-specific understanding of testing and shipping requirements across global trial sites.
  • Coordinate with regional trial teams, breeding stations, treatment facilities, and labs to align chemistry/material demand, request intake, and shipment schedules with trial calendars.
  • Independently manage routine logistics questions, documentation gaps, and shipment‑readiness issues while escalating non‑routine compliance, permit, stewardship, EHS, or legal/contract questions to the appropriate accountable function.
  • Handle packaged chemistries/materials in accordance with site procedures, EHS requirements, SDS guidance, labeling standards, storage requirements, PPE expectations, and approved shipment processes.
  • Management of contract employees to assist with the above responsibilities during peak seasons.
Data & Process Integrity
  • Maintain data accuracy within Vylor chemistry logistics and material tracking systems, reconciling discrepancies between coded identifiers, compliance requirements, and shipment status.
  • Generate status reports and metrics on chemistry request intake, shipment readiness, permit/stewardship status, and shipment accuracy for stakeholders.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities in chemistry logistics, request intake, compliance handoffs, and global shipment execution.
  • Support Vylor software updates and/or transfer of existing systems by providing business-process input, user acceptance testing, data/process documentation, training materials, and adoption support. This role does not own software development or technical system architecture.
What Skills You Need
  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, plant science, biology, chemistry, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with chemistry/material logistics, trial logistics, material tracking systems, or laboratory information management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute independently within established processes, resolve routine operational issues, and elevate non‑routine compliance, stewardship, EHS, regulatory, or legal/contract questions appropriately.
  • Understanding of confidentiality, compliance, stewardship, EHS, SDS, labeling, storage, PPE, and shipment requirements related to proprietary R&D chemistries/materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy in high-volume, deadline-driven, confidentiality-sensitive environments.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with global R&D, breeding, legal/contracts, stewardship, regulatory, EHS, and operations teams.
  • Proficiency with material tracking, trial management, or workflow management systems.
  • Must be capable of doing physical lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Ability to work periods of extended work hours during peak seasons and possible overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting global, multi-region R&D trial operations and international chemistry/material movement.
  • Working knowledge of permits, stewardship expectations, treated-material compliance requirements, and shipping‑readiness documentation.
  • Experience working in or coordinating with storage, lab, warehouse, or treatment environments where packaged materials are handled under EHS-controlled procedures.
  • Experience supporting business-process changes, system testing, training documentation, or adoption of logistics/workflow tools.
  • Experience with Vylor systems or comparable R&D logistics/workflow platforms.
Work Environment / Schedule Expectations
  • Role will require onsite work in Johnston and coordination with global teams across time zones.
  • Work may involve storage, lab, warehouse, treatment, or shipment‑readiness environments where packaged chemistries/materials are handled under established EHS procedures.
  • Must follow applicable EHS, SDS, PPE, labeling, storage, documentation, and shipment‑readiness requirements for assigned activities.
  • Please note there is no visa sponsorship available for this role.
