Job summary

AstraZeneca GmbH is seeking a Global Safety Program Lead, Senior Director to drive safety strategy and execution for assigned assets. You will lead safety physicians and scientists, deputise for the Global Safety Head when needed, and ensure compliance with GxP and AZ procedures.

You will oversee the Safety Strategy Management Team and Safety Surveillance Team, ensure high-quality safety content, and collaborate with product teams to align safety with the overall strategy. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Medical degree or equivalent in biomedicine or science.
• 5 years of clinical, safety and risk management experience in pharma/biotech/CRO or health authorities.
• Proven track record of clinical safety delivery with strategic influence.
• Ability to collaborate across a matrixed environment and influence cross-functional leaders.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for overall safety content for assets/indications.
• Oversee Safety Strategy Management Team and Safety Surveillance Team.
• Lead safety deliverables (RMPs, PSRs) and regulatory submissions.
• Guide study designs and safety input across programs.
• Represent safety in governance forums and committees; travel domestically and internationally.
